A Customer Service Specialist who happens to sell Real Estate, Steven W. is committed to satisfying the client and make them Raving Fans of his service. He has specialized in working with 1st time home buyers, young families and relocation clients. Equipped with a Bachelor's degree in Business, an Associate Degree in Business-Management and Marketing, he knows what it takes to sell homes in the Triangle area. He has been selling homes in Raleigh for 8 years and receives no greater thrill than to help a young couple find the perfect home for them.
As one who purchased his first home 3 days after his 19th birthday, he knows how to speak with the 1st time home buyer who has questions about the entire process. As one who did not get the best service on his first home purchase, he knows that it is imperative for the young families to be well represented.
As a transplant to the Raleigh area and one who has had to move several times in his life, he knows the special attention that new residents to the Raleigh area need, not only to find a home, but so much more. He counts many of his past clients as friends, especially those who have moved here and did not know anyone. He is dedicated to helping new residents to this area assimilate to the community. He knows that it does no good for a family to move here and not get adjusted to life in the Carolinas.
Born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Steven W. moved to South Carolina when he was 13. He met with many difficulties to adjust to the new life and a year later, his parents purchased a home in Newberry, SC. Throughout high school, Steven participated in numerous activities to include basketball, football, band, Math Honor Society, Beta Club and many more. After high school, Steven moved to Columbia and began a career as a meat cutter while attending school part-time at Midlands Technical College. After graduating from Midlands Technical College, he was promoted to a managerial position and moved to Greenville, then Georgetown, and finally, to Raleigh. He has been here ever since. In 2006, he married his sweetheart, a local attorney originally from Greensboro, NC. Of course, they had been dating for about 8 years before becoming engaged in 2005. In 2007, the brought into their home the newest member of the Nelson household, a Minerature Schnauzer named Snickers.
Steven was licensed to practice real estate in 1999 and joined Century 21. He spent many years there as a Part-time agent. Then shortly after his wedding, he joined the Ida Terbet Team with Keller Williams in June of 2006. After spending nearly 2 years on Ida's wonderful team and learning much from her, he made the decision to embark upon his own journey and left the team to become an independent agent with Keller Williams.
When Steven W. is not selling real estate, he enjoys spending time with his wife and Snickers. He is also an avid golfer and enjoys many sports to include college basketball, college and professional football and hockey. He is an avid reader and writes for numerous blogs and online newspapers. He is also very active in the community as he is Chairman of the Young Executives club at the Capital City Club, committee member for the Big Bad Ball, which is a formal event to support Hospice of Wake County, a member of the North Raleigh Rotary Club, and a committee member of the Triangle Uncorked. He has also participated in the Susan G. Koman Race for the Cure and the Jimmy V Celebrity Golf Tournament.
